OUR MOTTO
Advocates of safe ecosystem
Agency for Conservation and Development was established in 2010 to protect and conserve the ecosystem of national parks and Game Reserves of Fangak Island and highland Boma.
ACD’s key objective is to protect and conserve the beautiful wildlife species along the Sudd Island, the Boma Plateau, and the marshes of Shambek where various birds, mammalian and reptile species thrive.
Due to military and political transition of the two Sudan’s, challenges to protect and conserve the ecosystem are enormous, but with personal call and commitment, nuance experiences, technical know-what, focus, dedication, above all-HOPE for a better future, ACD was and continue to be the only national wildlife conservation agency in the country, setting the bar high for conservation action, and education that has driven our success in protecting wildlife and wild places for over a decade.
We hold ourselves to the highest standards, adhering to core values of respect, accountability and transparency, innovation, diversity and inclusion, collaboration, and integrity.
The agency work with community members by appointing Community Wildlife Ambassadors (CWAs)to keep conducting awareness and campaigns against poaching, bush burning, tree cutting, protection and conservation of the ecosystem.
ACD envisions a South Sudan where wildlife thrives peacefully, valued, protected, and conserved by the societies that take pride and benefit from the diverse wildlife species of a Beautiful South Sudan.
